We are seeking a senior-level Commercial Manager to support complex engineering and defence-related projects. This role requires a commercially astute professional who can operate autonomously, manage stakeholder relationships effectively, and escalate only complex issues to the Head of Commercial while keeping her informed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading negotiations, managing contracts, and ensuring commercial compliance across multiple projects. They will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, executives, and external stakeholders, requiring strong communication and influencing skills. Your new role

  • Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract configurations and baselines.
  • Prepare and execute contract variations and official project correspondence.
  • Provide commercial advice to project and supply chain teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks in line with governance processes.
  • Support intercompany agreements and ensure alignment with corporate policies.
  • Deliver commercial training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare commercial reports and contribute to broader program reporting.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in senior commercial roles within engineering or defence sectors.
  • Existing Defence Clearance
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to push back diplomatically when needed.
  • Experience with ASDEFCON is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable engaging with engineers, PMs, executives, and external stakeholders.

  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline are desirable.
