Wood is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our team in the Melbourne office to support the Asia Pacific - Eastern Region.
Reporting to the VP Commercial, this diverse role will perform the full range of commercial activities from commercial inputs to proposals, preparation and negotiation of commercial pricing models, pre and post award contract reviews, contract administration and commercial close out activities.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our Asia-Pacific team in the Melbourne as a Commercial Manager covering a portfolio of significant contracts & projects with a key major client within the oil and gas sector in Asia-Pacific.

**The key objectives for this role are**:
- Maximise commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
- Commercialisation of a sub-Business Group service offerings to support business growth and strategy
- Ensuring that all rates and prices for Wood’s services is prepared, analysed and reviewed to a high standard
- Developing teams with in-depth commercial and cross-functional expertise to support the assigned business
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
- Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
- Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project / Portfolio of Projects
- Managing the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group
- Manages and provides team members with the general direction in commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout
- Implementation of the commercial strategy for the Business Unit within assigned project / sub-business group and ensures alignment of objectives to the business unit strategy
- Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviours

- Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline. 8-12 years’ experience with 4+ years’ experience in similar leadership/management role
- In addition to an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, the individual should have extensive and varied work experience with Wood which would allow extensive knowledge of and exposure to key contractual and commercial management concepts and principles
- Proven experience in contract administration including change management
- Proven ability to prepare, analyse and review pricing for tender submissions
- Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
- Experience in contract negotiations
- Experience in claims & dispute resolution
