About the Role

Service Stream’s Commercial division are currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our growing company.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide Commercial leadership to the business by developing, promoting, and implementing effective commercial practices. You will primarily support our Network Infrastructure business.

This will require strong stakeholder engagement relationships, commercial negotiation skills (including claim & dispute management), proven ability to managing & identifying risks.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Flexible, the successful person can be based in either VIC, QLD or SA

Reporting Line: General Manager - Commercial

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement expert National Commercial capability for the business
- Oversee the development of systems and procedures that enable the business to fulfill its commercial obligations and ensure compliance with internal policy;
- Manage Commercial Relationships with Clients, ensure alignment and resolve disputes when they arise;
- Assist in the negotiation of Contract Variations, Annual Reviews or New Contracts;
- Lead the development of process & procedure aimed at implementing structured Commercial Management rigour in the business;
- Establish effective controls to minimise leakage and maximise returns; Work with the pricing team to prepare and maintain upstream / downstream pricing including SoR, overhead, volume and P&L Modelling;
- Ensure the team have implemented and are maintaining appropriate cost control measures, contractual notices, claim procedures and tools to manage all contractual provisions
- Interface with Corporate Counsel and arrange for the review of the legal and insurance aspects associated with contract and commercial management;
- Oversee contractual documentation associated with procurement activities, ensuring appropriate back to back provisions

About You
- Proven experience in a Commercial / Financial / Project Controlling type role
- Experience in establishing & documenting business process in a complex environment
- Experience in the build-up & maintenance of Client & Sub-Contractor Pricing / Schedule of Rate (SoR) / P&L Modelling is desirable
- Experience in understanding contractual requirements, tender negotiations, claims & dispute management
- Ability to investigate claim & dispute issues, with internal & external stakeholders, & document findings in a fact based systematic manner
- Understanding of Risk Management Principles
- Experience in building & maintaining professional, constructive, value add relationships with internal & external stakeholders across all levels of an Organisation
