**ABOUT THE WORK SPACE**:
The primary purpose of each of the YMCA Community Centres is to support communities to find and build a greater level of connection in their local community.
This is achieved by the provision of high-quality programs into the community, partnerships and service delivery targeting families with young children, youth and the general community.
This includes providing:
- A variety of programs and events that welcome and actively engage young people and communities in arts, cultural and recreational activities.
- Support, advocacy and referral services.
- Facilitate and develop youth and whole of community development pathways.
- Direct support services, training and/or activities to young people and community members at risk.
- Hire of meeting rooms, performance spaces and sporting facilities to the community.
The YMCA Community Centres are a place for the community to meet, celebrate, learn, and connect. There are a number of varied activities and events offered at each of the centres on an ongoing basis.

**The Community Services Manager **leads the Community Centre program area.
The successful applicant will support Centre Coordinators to further strengthen the operation of YMCA Community Centres so that people visiting these Centres feel like they belong and have an opportunity to develop skills so they are able to give back to their Community. The Community Centre Manager will also work with the Community Centre team to balance the goals of both the Centre and embedded YMCA program.
This position has both a south side and north side office option to base themselves, with regular travel to the Community Centres. The position is permanent full-time.
**QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE**
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor of Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related degree, with a minimum of 5 years related work experience;
- Current Open Queensland Drivers Licence;
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on the YMCA mission and values;
- Significant and successful strategic leadership experience in a Community Service setting of at least 5 years;
- Significant experience in working with Government, Community and corporate stakeholders;
- A demonstrated knowledge of the challenges facing youth / families and children and the innovative methods needed to support them to go on a journey where they are contributing to their community;
- Demonstrated monitoring, evaluation and learning skills and the ability to use those to influence the youth / families and children strategic intent sought by the YMCA;
- Demonstrated ability to manage effectively human, financial and physical resources to deliver both social impact and high quality organisational outcomes;
- Demonstrated capacity to produce high level business cases which have been considered and subsequently approved by Boards and or equivalents;
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates or willingness to obtain;
- Possess or willingness to obtain a Blue Card prior to commencement of employment.
