About the Role

With the recent changes to our business we have an exciting new opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager (HSE) to join our enterprise-wide Group Audit team. Group Audit supports AGL's Board and management team through the provision of assurance, advice and insight on the management of AGL's key HSE risks.

Reporting to the Senior Audit Manager (ESG) the incumbent will take an operational leading role in the planning, execution and reporting of HSE assurance activity across our diverse business as set out in the annual Group Audit Plan.

To maximise the value from Group Audit's reviews, this role will play a key role in building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure emerging risks and issues facing the business are managed as is reasonably practicable for compliance to applicable legislative obligations and in alignment to industry better practices for HSE.

What you'll be doing:
The Internal Audit Manager (HSE) will be responsible for delivering the annual audits while contributing to inform the HSE assurance direction in upcoming Group Audit Plans. The incumbent will play a key role in designing, refining and operationalising best-in-class HSE assurance protocols for a large and complex organisation with a highly diverse business ecosystem and associated HSE risk profile.

About You

What you'll bring to the table:
You will have significant experience in prioritising and managing multiple assurance activities and stakeholders, demonstrating a professional commitment to effectively deliver a program of work on time and to the required internal audit standard.

Your strong verbal and written communication skills, sound commercial acumen and ability to develop and influence the adoption of practical, risk-based improvements will see you excel in this role.

A tertiary qualification in HSE or similar (Engineering) as well as previous experience in assurance activities for large and complex organisations is highly regarded.
