The Role

SMEC is currently seeking a diligent Internal Audit Manager to be accountable for ensuring that relevant financial, operational, reputational, and associated risks are identified and managed. This role will be based in Melbourne with support from a global team.

This role will be responsible for providing assurance on adequacy and operating effectiveness of internal controls for key processes and systems, making recommendations for improvements and providing quality Internal Audit reports to management as well as advisory support to the business. In this role you will have a global impact with a diverse, complex organisation.
- Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, preferably with professional certifications in accounting (CA/CPA) and/or audit (CIA/CISA)
- 10+ years of experience with an international professional accounting firm and/or major organizations
- Good working experience in internal control, internal audit, and risk management, IT audit experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with business operations and workflows.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Good team player, able to interact effectively with management, colleagues and other stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office suite and familiar with various ERP software.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, highly proactive and professional.
- Willingness to travel overseas for audits or related activities.
