**What are we looking for?**
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in Melbourne on an initial fixed term 6 month contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is a crucial role that will have a direct impact on the well-being and satisfaction of our workforce.
Responsibilities will include:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including salary payments, tax and superannuation calculations, and leave entitlements
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure all payroll-related information is up-to-date
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, leave, and other entitlements
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary reports
- Payroll tax reconciliation and lodgement
- Assist with the implementation of new payroll system and processes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and company policies
- Experience with reconciling and processing superannuation contributions via clearing house
- Experience in calculating and processing terminations and redundancy payments
**What will you bring?**
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a payroll officer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing and legislation, including taxation and superannuation
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Proficient in using payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise with employees at all levels
- A proactive and organised approach to work
