**The Role**

Position duties include:

- Drive and lead S&T activities within the Tactical Threat Response discipline, including leading small S&T teams in the development of new technologies to support Defence Cyber Operations.
- Develop, prototype, and construct tools and techniques to support tactical cyber threat detection, triage, and response on military systems.
- Work with Defence clients to understand the current and emerging cyber threats posed to military systems and use this to shape the S&T requirements for the team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in chosen scientific or engineering disciplines and broaden knowledge across related areas of cyber security.
- Enhance S&T capability through collaboration internally within DSTG, and externally with academia, industry, and other national and international S&T organisations.

**About our Team**
The Information Sciences Division (ISD) leads Australia’s science and technology research associated with digital and electronic warfare threats in the information environment. The Division develops S&T to sense, interpret and shape the information environment to better understand, and assist in deterring and responding to, these threats through science and technology that helps shape, deter and respond to these digital and electromagnetic threats.

Within ISD, the Cyberwarfare Operations Branch (CWO) undertakes research and development to help Australian Defence develop an effective cyber warfare capability that enables fight-through in a contested cyber environment.

Within CWO, the Counter Cyber Threats group undertakes research and development to identify, understand and defeat threats to key cyber terrain. Their work supports ADF cyber operations, with a particular focus on defence of military mission systems and platform systems.
