The eHealth NSW Digital Workspace is a dynamic group incorporating technical teams that manage and maintain state-wide services available to the NSW Health network. This includes virtual app-desktop delivery, endpoint management, mobile device management and endpoint security-protection.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Digital Workspace group for a Capability Manager. Reporting to the group Manager, Digital Workspace you will help manage resources in the ICT teams.
As a Capability Manager, you will initially be responsible for the management of resources and capability of staff across the Application Virtualisation Services (AVS) team, including building and managing learning and career pathways. This role assists in managing roadmap deliverables and outcomes through supporting ICT team members and their development.
The purpose of the role is to manage resources in the teams, providing leadership to ICT resources, and implementing structures to build resourcing capability based on short and long-term requirements of the business. This includes resource capacity planning, analysing resource utilisation and managing resource allocation for product teams. You will achieve this by working collaboratively with operational leads, product owners and other capability managers within eHealth technology teams, and various stakeholders across NSW Health.

**What you will do**
As an integral member of the Digital Workspace group, you will:
- Manage the development of resource capability in-line with technology roadmaps.
- Lead a team of multi-disciplinary ICT project delivery resources, responsible for developing skills, managing performance, working with the product owners to measure and obtain staff feedback on assignments completed, to inform skills matrix, suitability for current and future initiatives and annual performance review.
- Working with product teams to determine the technical skills required to deliver project solutions, developing, and maintaining a database/skills matrix that reflects up to date information on the skills and expertise of resources within the group.
- Maintain capability governance frameworks, that foster productive and collaborative partnerships.
- Participate in negotiations of resource allocation to optimise delivery.
- Engage with capability corporate partners to leverage existing or new commercial agreements, and coordinate with vendor suppliers ongoing to ensure all changes and challenges are managed.
- Manage and report capability costs to relevant leaders to support the delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Manage capability of staff including workforce activities, performance development, mentoring, training, succession planning, and developing personalised career pathways.
- Develop and maintain leadership and stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure service delivery outcomes are met.
- Expand the capability pool within the Digital Workspace group in-line with future growth of ICT product teams.

- Experience in leading high-performing specialist ICT teams, with the ability to influence, build strong capabilities and develop talent, including resource planning and management experience.
- Experience analysing resource utilisation, capacity and capability planning against business needs and utilising digital solutions for the scheduling and the assignment of resources.
