**Position Purpose**:
The Treasury Officer provides the corporate treasury function with high quality transactional support, financial reporting, forecasting and administration in support of the corporation's strategic financial objectives and energy trading requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Finance or Substantial (5 years+) experience
- Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia/CPA Australia (desirable)

**Experience and knowledge**
- Commercial experience preferably within a banking or treasury environment (essential)
- Electricity industry experience (desirable)
- Computer skills - in particular Excel (essential)
- Ability to act autonomously (essential)
- Broad exposure to and a detailed understanding of financial markets (desirable)
- Report writing skills (desirable)
- It is expected that an incumbent would gain the required level of experience over _5+_ years.

**Responsibilities and outcomes**:

- Prioritise tasks in accordance with daily and monthly deadlines;
- Calculate daily funding requirements across a variety of functional areas including Energy Trading and Commercial Strategy, Accounts Payable and Payroll to ensure adequate funds/cash available when payments are due;
- Prepare short term cash flow forecasts to anticipate any challenges arising from limited cash flow and to make recommendations for the transfer of funds between transactional and higher yield deposit accounts;
- Ensure, as part of tax and treasury function, the maintenance of daily liquidity to ensure that the Corporation can meet its AFSL financial and contractual obligations;
- Ensure all payments are entered and released to the bank and money received by direct deposit, cheques and cash is accurately receipted;
- Act as a 'last line of defence' to ensure payments are only released from the business when appropriate approvals and documentation is in place;
- Liaise with the corporation's bank on transactional matters;
- Administer foreign exchange transactions;
- Perform financial reporting tasks in an accurate and efficient manner, including reconciling account balances, reviewing key components of the financial statements, and processing of accounting journals in compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting guidelines;
- Manage Credit Card Administration, including:

- Issuing/cancellation of credit cards
- Overall monitoring of credit card procedure
- Processing reconciled credit card statements and balance sheet account monthly
- Card Item dispute resolution
- Provide backup capabilities for the Tax and Treasury Accountant
