Join Queensland Treasury as a Principal Treasury Analyst and play a key role in providing strategic economic and fiscal advice, monitoring agency performance and leading the development of fiscally-sound public policy to drive Queensland's economic growth and sustainability.
Your New Opportunity
As a Principal Treasury Analyst, you will lead the monitoring and analysis of financial and non-financial performance across Queensland Government agencies, providing strategic advice to support the development and implementation of sound public policy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with internal and external clients and stakeholders to address complex financial and policy matters, identify risks, and develop strategic solutions that align with the Government's economic priorities. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality advice, reports and recommendations to senior executives, ministerial offices and interdepartmental committees, ensuring that Queensland Treasury continues to drive the state's economic growth and sustainability.
In This Role, You Will
- Provide strategic advice and support to clients and senior executives on complex budget, financial management, and policy issues.
- Lead the development and implementation of processes to monitor and analyse agencies' budget and financial information.
- Offer expert advice on risk identification, management, and evaluation of best practice financial strategies and policies.
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders to resolve complex issues and negotiate positive outcomes.
- Represent Treasury on internal and external committees and interdepartmental working groups.
- Prepare complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, and correspondence within tight timeframes.
- Support organisational strategy, direction, and initiatives.
What Experience You Will Bring
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
- The ability to lead teams and deliver outcomes in a complex and time-sensitive environment.
- Experience in analysing financial and non-financial performance data and/or developing government policy.
- Expertise in providing strategic, practical, and solutions-focused analysis and advice.
- Influential communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to foster collaboration and information sharing.
- Effective judgement and understanding of different perspectives to develop solutions and work collaboratively.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
