What you'll be doing:
As a Treasury Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping us to manage our debt, lease and hedging portfolios, strengthening and enhancing the middle office controls within VA Treasury andsupporting our transition to a public company. You'll be instrumental in driving accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across treasury forecasting and reporting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the financial planning team to deliver accurate forecasting and budgeting for Treasury, Insurance and Tax teams, including group finance costs, aircraft leasing, and fuel & FX assumptions.
- Enhancing middle office reporting by preparing monthly Treasury packs that support informed decision-making and provide timely exposure reporting to help the front office manage fuel, interest rate and FX risks effectively.
- Assisting with the management of our debt and aircraft lease portfolio, including monitoring compliance with the Treasury Risk Management Policy and financial covenants under debt and merchant acquiring agreements.
You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring activities are completed on time, with robust controls and a commitment to quality.
You'll be great in this role if you:
- Hold CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications, or a degree in finance or a related discipline
- Bring at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a finance or treasury role
- Can provide high-quality guidance and leadership to the Treasury Accounting team
- Thrive under pressure and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements
- Build effective working relationships and deliver exceptional service, advice and support across diverse teams
- Possess knowledge of debt and financial markets, and/or leasing arrangements
- Have experience in aviation or airline industries (desirable)
- Have worked in corporate treasury or financial advisory roles (highly reagarded)
- Are familiar with systems such as:
- OneStream
- Oracle
- PowerBI
- GTreasury
- Understand rating agency balance sheet and credit metrics (desirable)
- Have knowledge of derivatives and hedge accounting (desirable)
