An exciting opportunity in our Epping office is available for an experienced, creative, and motivated Research and Development Manager (Architectural Aluminium Systems) (**R&D Manager**) to become part of the team. You will be collaborating with the best in the business and get the chance to oversee the research and design of some of the most exciting projects in Australia.

The Research and Development team at Ekin Aluminium uniquely works across all stages of the project lifecycle, which means that we have a focus on real-world results rather than hypothetical targets commonly seen in the industry.

This role includes:

- Managing the Research and Development team
- Strategically developing and delivering the research and development initiatives for façade, window and door systems
- Undertaking a detailed cost/benefit analysis when considering the commericalisation of the research and development projects
- Supervising and coordinating the delivery of detailed engineering computations and structural façade analysis
- Provision of high level build-ability advice to internal and external stakeholders including about material knowledge and installation techniques
- Being overall accountable for all façade and other technical documentation produced by the Research and Development team including calculations, drawings and specifications
- Exercising overall review of contractor submissions, shop drawings and calculations relating to research and development aspects
- Closely monitoring research and development outcomes at all stages of the product lifecycle including pre-design and post-design (as required)
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Project management for research and development functions
- Following technical and other developments in Australia and abroad to ensure that the business maintains its industry leading position

**Who we are looking for**

In addition to this, you will also ideally have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Aluminium Systems Designer), Architectural Engineering or similar
- Proven experience in façade design engineering within a façade consultancy or façade contractor,
- Demonstrated expertise in façade system design with the ability to review drawing submissions
- Proficiency in relevant façade & structural finite element software e.g. Strand7, Solidworks, Ansys, Rhino, Flixo
- Experience in producing and reviewing calculations for various façade elements and writing documentation for all stages of a project lifecycle
- Proven ability to manage delivery of multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, focused, initiative taking attitude and a strong commitment to your field of work
