**About the Role**

The Endoscopy Service Assistant is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care to patients. This role focuses on patient handling, environmental cleaning, equipment reprocessing, and logístical support to ensure the efficient operation of the Endoscopy Unit. All direct patient care is undertaken under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) or Enrolled Nurses (EN), in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

**Requirements of the Role**

**Essential**:

- Formal qualification or extensive experience in endoscopy reprocessing or sterilisation services, with knowledge of OH&S, manual handling, and hazard management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to high-quality customer service, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, quality assurance, and availability to work across morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday.
- Demonstrated understanding of infection control principles and reprocessing guidelines.
- Ability to take initiative, is self-motivated, and can work as part of a team with mínimal supervision.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a dedication to professional standards.
- Proficient in:

- Problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Organisational skills.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Recognises that additional duties and responsibilities may be required occasionally, beyond those outlined in this document.

**You will be required to have or able to obtain**:

- Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
- Identification check validation.
- Police check clearance.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices
- Formal qualification in a health-related field or extensive experience in endoscopy processing or sterilisation services.
