Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital

You will assist in all aspects of food preparation, equipment handing and the delivery and service of meals to patients, caregivers and visitors within the various areas of the Catering Services Department.

The Position- Interpret menu tray cards for meal service to patients.- Assist with the preparation, plating, delivery of meals and snacks to patients and staff to various locations throughout the Hospital.- Prepare, maintain and assist with the provision of meals and snacks in the staff dining room.- Assist with the washing of cutlery, crockery and glassware.- Assist with the washing up of large heavy-duty pots, pans and other kitchen utensils.- Observe and practice all aspects of food, kitchen and personal hygiene.- Assist with general kitchen hygiene, washing of walls, floors, refrigerators etc. and other areas as requested.

You will have basic knowledge of all areas of kitchen hygiene with experience in vegetable, salad and sandwich preparation for large numbers.

The ability to interpret menus correctly, communicate effectively with colleagues and customers with basic knowledge in cash register reconciliation and cash handling techniques is essential for the role.

To succeed you will have a high standard of personal presentation and punctuality with the willingness to learn new coffee and food production skills. Previous barista and cash handling experience will be beneficial to the role.
