**About the role**
In this unique and highly rewarding role you will report directly to the Group Manager People Experience & Culture and be responsible for managing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the group. You will be instrumental in the development and delivery of D&I policy and processes, therefore, must have a natural level of comfort with all areas of diversity and an appreciation of the high level of discretion and confidence required.
Your commitment to workplace diversity, equity and inclusion will drive and shape conversations with senior leaders and a dedicated Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee, who rely on your understanding of current research and ability to advise on best practice. Working collaboratively with your team and the business, you will support opportunities for awareness and education and align efforts with strategies that further embed D&I into all aspects of our organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and organise diversity initiatives, particularly in whole-of-business areas such as gender, Australia’s First Nations Peoples, multicultural and LGBTQI+ diversity
- Provide leadership for, and project manage, various diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives, including data management and reporting, submission writing, event planning, communications to the business as well as liaising with, and managing, external relationships
- Facilitate and manage working group activities and programs, providing a point of contact for team members on the working groups and each group’s respective Executive Sponsor
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of D&I programs to meet specific business needs, liaising with external suppliers when required, and producing or sourcing D&I training materials that promote and enhance program delivery
- Research and present findings on a range of D&I topics, including leadership, diversity, and other relevant areas for development of D&I initiatives
- Provide a high-level of specialised partnership with the business and provide expert guidance on the ongoing D&I needs across the organisation
- Support the implementation of a best practice D&I framework which delivers outcomes consistent with organisational strategic and business plans as well as to external commitments.
**About you**
- A passion for working directly with people, representing, advocating and advancing the unique needs of our diverse team member communities
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Human Resources, learning and development or organisational development, desirable
- Qualifications in Human Resources or Organisational Psychology, desirable
- Understanding and practical demonstration of project management, change management and presenting in medium to large organisations
- Ability to access, correlate and interpret data to tell a narrative to a broad audience
- High attention to detail required for reporting data to meet external compliance requirements
- Experience and comfort in chairing and leading meetings and working with a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated competency working across several systems
- Strong internal stakeholder management with an ability to leverage and inspire those who contribute on a voluntary basis
- Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft suite
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills that allow preparation of reports to be delivered at a high-level
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to ensure optimum outcomes for individual team members and the business
