Family Dispute Resolution Role

At our organisation, we are seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join us on a part-time basis based on the Gold Coast. As an accredited FDRP, you will be delivering Family Dispute Resolution services to our clients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating Family Dispute Resolution sessions via joint session, shuttle, telephone or online.
  • Assessing, referring or delivering child inclusive family dispute resolution.
  • Providing case management, information and referrals to families progressing through the family dispute resolution process.
  • Facilitating psycho-educational or information group sessions.
  • Completing client suitability assessments for family dispute resolution.
  • Completing client intake, including risk assessment/s and safety planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You have a demonstrated understanding of the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners Regulations within the Family Law Act.
  • You have a well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and Family Law Act, as well as the issues and impacts on families engaged in these systems.
  • You have experience in intake, risk assessment, case management and referral pathways, crisis intervention, Domestic Violence Order assistance and safety planning.
  • You possess well-developed written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • You can support and work with diverse families with complex needs.

Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution.
  • Current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department.
  • Australian Working Rights.
  • Blue Card (or willing to apply).
  • National Police Check (or willing to apply).
