**The Opportunity**

Organisational Effectiveness manages and responds to requests for information from a number of different stakeholders, including current and former clients, staff, and carers, and to support a range of legal and court processes such as subpoenas, civil claims and the National Redress Scheme.

The Former Client Complaints and Risk Officer role sits within Berry Street's Quality and Risk portfolio and is responsible for supporting functions within this stream. This includes former service user complaints, Risk and Compliance, Child Safeguarding and Quality.

**Key Responsibilities**

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support to the Head of Quality and Risk and members of the Child Safeguarding Unit in response to requests from the National Redress Scheme, former service users and legal representatives.

In this role you will be required to keep accurate records in relation to administration and management of Redress and Civil Claims for Berry Street while ensuring all legislative requirements are met. You will support the completion of requestions for information, by preparing information in accordance with Redress Scheme requirements and or relevant legislation.

**About You**
- A demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on people who were clients of child welfare services including those who have experienced institutionalised abuse.
- Knowledge and commitment to the rights of all care leavers to access their information.
- Experience in records and information management, with demonstrated attention to detail and ability to analyse large bodies of text in a timely manner.
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work or similar, along with relevant experience in the sector.
