**Your role**
The best lawyers need the best business partners. At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.
You'll be a part of our Finance team who provide strategic input to the firm based on an analysis of financial data and forecasting of results to ensure planning, budgeting and performance tracking activities meet the firm's goals.
As an Accounts Payable Clerk or Specialist in our Sydney office you will:
- Be responsible for the daily operations of processing invoices, managing payments and reconciliations.
- Review the coding of invoices and follow up queries from the business regarding the status of their invoices
- Generate schedules for invoice payment
- Complete vendor reconciliations
- Ensure policy adherence, responding to ad-hoc queries and following up disputed items
- Identify opportunities for efficiency in our accounts payable processes
This is a 12-month fixed term, full-time contract, however flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.
**About you**
You will have:
- Previous accounts payable experience in a large organisation
- Excellent client service skills and professionalism demonstrated by responding appropriately and promptly to all forms of communication to deliver a high quality client service
- Experience with Chrome River or Aderant beneficial, but not essential
- Confidence dealing external stakeholders such as our corporate credit card providers, banks, auditors and software vendors
- An organised, methodical and composed approach when there are peaks in work load
- A good knowledge of GST compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail, as you will be updating and maintaining databases, ensuring data quality.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team by displaying high standards of conduct and supporting the overall objectives of the team
- An understanding of audit processes, controls and procedures to demonstrate knowledge of risk management when working with the external auditors
