**Position Information**:
Kegworth Public School, established in 1887, is located in Sydney’s Inner West and serves a highly engaged community that is committed to the ideals of the school as a hub of the community, and the provision of strong educational and wellbeing opportunities for all students.
The school currently serves the needs of 338 students, including 2.9% from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, and 31% who come from a language background other than English, with Spanish and Italian being the largest language groups. A significant feature of the role of the principal is oversight of the Preschool, which offers two Early Childhood learning groups, and is an integral part of Kegworth Public School.
The school and its community are deeply committed to nurturing a culture where diversity and inclusion are valued and respected, and where each child gains the skills, they need to contribute to society as active and informed citizens.

Expertise in the assessment of need to implement whole-school wellbeing initiatives that support student development and achievement.
Proven capacity to implement differentiated professional learning to support ongoing staff development.
Strong ability to build collaborative relationships with parents, community and external agencies to foster and sustain positive school culture for all stakeholders.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
