**About the role**:

Reporting to The GM - Retail Operations, the Operations Manager - NSW will support the delivery of world-class standards in our stores and drive consistent delivery of the Officeworks vision and strategic objectives by guiding, coaching and motivating a team of Area managers in operational, financial and people performance. You will take an active role in helping shape the strategic direction and focus of the area groups alongside the People, safety & Central operation teams.

Responsibilities in the role include:

- Guide, coach, develop and mentor a high performing leadership team that delivers brand expectations
- Support Area Managers in developing Store Leadership teams to enable a healthy succession plan with the aim of building a diverse and skilled talent pipeline
- Develop and implement sales strategies that support business goals and ensure stores P&L performance is inline with budget
- Ensure consistent brand standards around compliance and inventory to deliver best practice in store execution resulting in sales growth and a reduction in stock loss
- Support the delivery of our highly valued customer experience
- Support the implementation of safety initiatives to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of all employees
- Drive shrink reduction and work with the Area Managers to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Drive recognition and reward strategies relating back to our NPS and great instore service.
- Lead project management of new stores, store refurbishments and relocations.

**About you**:
You are a motivated people leader who is passionate about instilling operational process to achieve instore excellence and achieve the Officeworks strategy. With a positive and engaging personality, you have a passion for developing high performing teams with a strong focus on succession planning and progression.

In addition, you will be:

- An inspirational leader with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, you have succeeded in a customer led environment
- An excellent communicator, you can confidently engage with internal and external business partners to ensure you and your team have the tools to drive genuine and measurable success
- Always operating with integrity, great safety and great culture
- Able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a Retail function in a multi business unit environment
- Experienced in driving cultural and structural change in large organisations with a collaborative approach
- High level financial acumen, you know how to impact EBIT through operational excellence in your direct reports
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in a business-related discipline (desired but not essential)
