**General Manager Retail - National Supermarket Chain**

**Purpose of the Role**

The General Manager Retail will be critical in further developing and improving the retail offer together with retail execution at stores nationally.

You would be responsible for compliance in all areas of operational activity and will improve sales and profitability of the retail network by ensuring the retail offer and execution is best in class.

You would drive marketing strategies and implement marketing programs across the network. This role will oversee a team of retail professionals in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

You will have proven experience working in supermarkets.

You would also be responsible for successfully managing and implementing change; this is a hands-on role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver a differentiated store offer by driving product and experience innovation
- Lead and build a team of high performing site food operators, and field leaders by consistent management and continual coaching
- Drive, manage and negotiate suppliers’ agreements and supervise the buying team
- To ensure the delivery of United ‘s operational and commercial standards at all retail locations nationally

Position Description
- Ensure compliance in all areas of operational activity
- Improve sales and profitability of the retail network by ensuring standards, food service execution and merchandise execution at all sites
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing Department to implement marketing programs across the Network

- Ability to provide strong leadership that is influential and collaborative

- Proven experience in significant strategic decision making and implementation
- Ability to manage and develop a positive and productive retail operations environment
- Ability to travel to stores nationally and to work on some weekends
