**About the Role**
The University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital have been appointed lead partners of a Best Practice Consortium of service providers and organisations for the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing. The Consortium will bring together a network of metropolitan and regional health services and research institutions in response to recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.
Together with the Best Practice Consortium Leads, senior researchers at the University of Melbourne and partners at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, this dynamic and varied role will help drive the Best Consortium’s translational research and evaluation, implementation and outcome measurement activity as well as provide general program coordination.
The Best Practice Consortium Research Lead will take direction from the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing on all aspects of its research strategy and other activities within the scope of the Collaboration Agreement. For avoidance of doubt, the incumbent will be employed by the University of Melbourne.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving translational research program development, evaluation and outcomes measurement projects related to Consortium partners' new models of service delivery.
- Working in partnership with consumer and family/carer expertise in developing ways of working that improve all outcomes for the Consortium partnership.
- Working to take promising findings from research and evaluation and outcomes measurement projects and form implementation plans for their sustained integration statewide.
**Who We Are Looking For**
You should demonstrate experience in collaborating with consumers and/or family/carers through co-production or participatory methods, involving their expertise in the design and delivery of mental health research or community initiatives. Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are crucial, showcasing excellence in translating scholarly knowledge into outputs tailored for diverse audiences. Additionally, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work within teams of varying sizes, across organizational boundaries, and with different project stakeholders, including consumer and carer lived experience workforces. Superior project management skills and a track record of delivering agreed outputs within contractual timelines and budgets are essential.
You will also have:
- A higher degree in the behavioural or social sciences and/or related discipline or equivalent professional experience (i.e., at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role).
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis and software.
- A keen interest in improving mental health and wellbeing with adults and older adults and their carers, families, supporters and kin.
