Governance, Risk, and Performance (GRP) is a Corporate Services business unit that delivers strong governance and risk management advisory and support services, promoting a governance culture, and optimising performance in the Department of Customer Service (DCS).
GRP also provides support to a number of Audit & Risk Committees (ARC), the Management Assurance Committee and advice re various Boards within the DCS cluster. We are looking for a Manager, Governance who can lead the team in providing high quality services to our governance stakeholders?
This role, which reports to the Director Governance and Performance, is responsible for leading a team which provides secretariat and board support services and ensuring relevant policies and guidelines are complied with. A key focus for this role is working closely with the ARC and Board Chairs in setting up agenda, administering the call for and upload of papers on the board software, overseeing the meetings and ensuring meeting minutes are issued in a timely manner. From time to time you may be involved in onboarding new ARC or Board members, preparing reports, and providing advice to stakeholders.
In addition, this role will oversee the set up and support of Boards within the cluster and provision of advice to facilitate Board compliance with regulation, policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with governance committees and GRP as well as engaging with Senior Executives from across the cluster.
***In this role you will:?**
- Drive the delivery of secretariat and board support services to a number of governance committees and boards within the DCS cluster
- Engage with Senior Executives and other stakeholders (including the Audit Office of NSW) for governance reporting and board support purposes
- Maintain the Forward Schedule and coordinate, administer and oversee the governance meetings
- Draft and/or oversee the drafting of meeting minutes and ensure their timely issuance
- Lead a small team who reports directly to this role
- Collaborate effectively with other corporate functions, and with governance colleagues to support the delivery of targeted, seamless governance solutions to customers.

- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and concurrent tasks/projects while ensuring confidentiality and work is delivered to a high standard (essential)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (essential)
- Knowledge of NSW public sector (preferred but not essential)
- Prior experience within a secretariat role, and relevant qualifications will be highly regarded
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $131,094 base plus superannuation
