Job Description Summary

The key objectives of this position is to support the Field Service Manager in the delivery services on a wide range of works programs using your technical skills. The role is field based supervisory and interacts with the SSL office and client contacts for the safe and timely completion of works.

The key objectives of this position is to support the Field Service Manager in the delivery services on a wide range of works programs using your technical skills. The role is field based supervisory and interacts with the SSL office and client contacts for the safe and timely completion of works.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of field staff and sub-contractors to deliver works programs
- Complete field site scoping activities and confirm customer’s desktop designs are workable. Where designs are not workable, liaise with the client and provide alternative solutions.
- Provide assistance to the scheduling team by matching resources to work that needs to be performed
- Provide technical support and training to internal staff and sub-contractor resources
- Ensure all field work is of a high standard and is undertaken within relevant OH&S policies and procedures
- Liaise with the client and its customers to appropriately manage the client’s network and plant
- Liaise with and make all arrangements with Public Authorities for provision of services to the network and working in public areas
- When needed assist technicians in completing works at site using your HFC skills
- Other duties as directed

To be considered for this opportunity you will have the following skills and experience:

- Relevant copper, fibre or HFC technical qualifications
- 5 years’ Experience within Telecommunications industry
- Flexible approach to pick up technologies other than HFC such as Copper and Fibre designs
- Good communication skills and the ability to deliver clear instructions
- Strong attention to detail, flexible and motivated individual
- Highly organised individual with sound administration skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to operate a laptop, tablet or field mobility device
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
