Based at our Sydney Head Office and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable function across The Aje Collective. You will take ownership of the AP process to ensure key metrics are met in a timely manner, resolve discrepancies, and process weekly invoice payment runs.

**As an Accounts Payable Manager, your tasks will include**:

- Taking ownership of all parts of the AP function including ensuring that systems data is accurate, new suppliers are correctly onboarded onto the process and supplier master data is appropriately safeguarded.
- Implementing best practice methods in all areas of Accounts Payable whilst maintain a system of controls over accounts payable transactions.
- Working closely with the Production team on open purchase orders and payment of deposits to inventory suppliers
- Liaising with warehouse/logistic/retail teams to finalize variances and close of orders for invoice processing and payment
- Reconciling vendor statements and liaise with the vendors regarding accounts and payments
- Reviewing and reporting month end aged payables, including maintaining reconciliations of deposits paid to suppliers
- Working alongside the finance team to further enhance and improve the invoice automation software and inventory purchase order system
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies between the accounts payable and purchase order system.
- Playing an active part in the use of the invoice automation software and purchase order system, including helping provide training to staff and developing an ability to answer common questions from both internal and external stakeholders

**Our expectations**:

- 5 + years’ experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable role within the Retail industry, with exposure to high-volumes
- An understanding of the basic accounting principles including GST knowledge
- Prior experience with AP21 is preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated understanding of the 3-way match processing of invoices for inventory suppliers, including netting off any prepayments/deposits paid for specific purchase orders
- High attention to detail that allows you to pick up on potential risks within the accounts payable function
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build rapport with all team members and stakeholders no matter what position they hold
- Effective time management skills and experience working within timelines and meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in adapting to financial system and procedural changes
- You will possess an energetic and enthusiastic personality coupled with a customer service-focused attitude
