About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
- Provide business support and administrative assistance to the Principal Registrar and Senior Managers of Court Operations, including development and continuous improvement of processes and protocols, assistance in relation to management initiatives and general administrative functions
- Identify, develop, implement, and coordinate efficient project administration systems and processes including document tracking and control and proactively create and implement new systems to streamline processes and enhance the operational functions of the court as required. Develop and maintain essential business unit documents such as work plans, organisational charts, contact lists, information databases and tracking systems - Coordinate and administer finance and HR processes, in consultation with the Principal Registrar.
- Contribute to and coordinate projects related to the operational needs of the court, as directed by the Principal Registrar.
- Build effective relationships with court and specialist staff to aid in the achievement of operational goals and objectives.
- Draft and prepare briefings and formal communications relating to court operations, ensuring compliance with organisational and best practice requirements.
- Prepare evidence based reports, based on research and data analysis, to inform the courts' operational decision making.
- Other duties as required commensurate to the classification of this role.
