THE ROLE

The Manager and Principal Advisor, Office of the Regulator provides high quality, expert advice, leadership and organisational, strategic and administrative support to the Regulator, Social Services Regulator (SSR), SSR executive team and broader organisation.

The Manager and Principal Advisor, Office of the Regulator successfully manages the high performing Office of the Regulator and all its functions including the coordination and provision of accurate, timely and strategic advice to the Regulator.

The role provides executive support in high level meetings and exposure to significant discussions and decisions. The position will be required to prepare reports, briefs, and other communication material. The role also leads various large and complex projects.

This role will be suited to a dynamic team-player and highly organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, project planning and problem-solving skills are a must for this role.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Provision of specialist high quality authoritative advice and sound policy recommendations to the Regulator, SSR executive team and broader organisation.
  • Oversee the development of policy and initiatives that meet government and SSR objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
  • Prepare and quality assure briefings, executive papers, correspondance, presentations, meeting papers and other documentation as required for the Regulator.
  • Lead a team encompassing a broad range of organisational and administrative activities and functions of the Social Services Regulator including executive support, correspondence, quality assurance, workflow and approval management, record management and ministerial and executive services.
  • Lead a range of administrative projects to develop and implement improvements to internal systems, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to strategic decision-making impacting on the SRR's operating environment, including the provision of advice to the Regulator, leadership team and broader workforce.
