Willoughby City Council are seeking an engaging, resilient and professionally spoken Community Liaison Officer on a temp contract basis. You will be working full-time hours (35pw/k) but will be employed initially on a 6-month basis, however there is a likelihood that the contract may be extended further due to various upcoming projects.

Willoughby City Council provides various services and assets to their 75,000+ local residents who are spread across their diverse suburbs including: Willoughby, Chatswood, St Leonards, Naremburn, Artarmon, Northbridge, Middle Cove, Castle Cove & Castlecrag.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Drafting notices/letters to local businesses/resident advising of works taking place in the area.
- Liaising with local businesses to share information and updates of the works, whilst also listening and responding to their concerns.
- Attending and facilitating community meetings, this includes taking meeting minutes and some public speaking. Councils assigned Project Manager and other staff will be present to provide the technical input.
- Support Project Managers during design and construction of various works.

**Projects Include**:
**Naremburn Streetscape upgrade**
- Council is planning to upgrade Naremburn’s local business centre and provide easier access for pedestrians, cyclists, and bus passengers; and enhance amenities to improve and extend visitation time to create higher economic activity, aiding business retention and growth.

**Artarmon Streetscape upgrade** (Hampden Road)

The aim of the project is to improve pedestrian access, safety and shopping precinct visual quality, the specific upgrades include:

- New street furniture and feature lighting
- New traffic signals
- A new pedestrian crossing at the intersection
- Footpath improvements and footpath widening
- New pedestrian lighting
- A new public toilet and amenities building
- Upgrades to the Village Green parkland
- Construction of rain gardens
- New landscaping with over 5,000 new trees, shrubs and ground plantings
- A shared path and cycleway through the Artarmon Local Centre, which forms part of the future Chatswood and St Leonards cycleway
