**Key Objectives**

**Hours of Work**

The ordinary hours of work for this position are 38 hours per week.

**Role Reporting**
- This position reports to the Principal
- This position supervises the Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, Enrolments Coordinator, Senior Administration Officer, Receptionist and Grounds / Maintenance Officer

**Scope of Duties**

The position of Business Manager is tasked with overseeing the non-educational (business) operation of the school. Core responsibilities include Human Resources, Financial Management, Administration and Compliance, and Operational and Strategic Business Planning for the school. This position requires strong, financial, human resource, compliance and leadership skills.

**Main Duties**
- Preparing and maintaining an operational and strategic business plan for the school
- Human Resource management (including payroll)
- Ensuring operational policies and procedures are fit for purpose and compliant with current regulatory requirements, including policies relating to human resource management, financial management, ICT and OHS
- Management of risk registers, risk management systems, compliance and reporting
- Management of ICT systems and supplier liaison
- Management and maintenance of essential services
- Management of Occupational Health and Safety systems
- Ensuring the school’s grounds, buildings and assets are maintained, legislatively compliant and fit for purpose
- Capital project planning and management
- Managing insurance policies and claims
- Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships including landlord agents, auditors, legal representatives, bankers, insurers, regulatory bodies, etc
- Participate as required in other duties reasonably requested by the school, including camps, excursions, performances, fairs, festivals, and open days

**Qualification, Requirements, Skills and Experience**
- Qualification and requirements include:

- Valid Working with Children Check
- Relevant suitable tertiary qualifications
- Evidence of the right to work in Australia
- Skills and experiences include:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using and Competency with ICT including Xero and Microsoft office
- Strong organisational skills
- Self-motivation
- Highly desirable qualities include:

- Capacity to engage positively with the school community and culture

**Child Safe Standards**

The school is committed to ensuring child safety. The school has zero tolerance for child abuse and will treat very seriously all allegations and concerns. In line with this commitment to child safety, the school has put in place policies and procedures to uphold the Victorian Child Safe Standards. These standards aim to promote child safety, prevent child abuse and set up processes to properly respond to allegations of child abuse.
