**Our Team**
Thales Australia is a premier provider of systems, products and services in the defence, security and civil markets in Australia and throughout the world.
Our Australian Munitions facilities produce a range of products including energetic materials, ammunition, munitions, warheads and rocket motors for Defence and commercial customers.
The purpose of this position is to manage allocated bids in the Guided Weapons business portfolio, focusing on commercial clients.
**Your role**
The **Bid Manager** will:
- Manage assembled bids teams to meet business objectives (with some project management involved)
- Ensure the project objectives in relation to cost, time, safety and quality are achieved,
- Manage the development of high quality and competitive bid offers,
- Adhere to the Thales Bid Management & Governance framework.
This position is based at our Melbourne CBD office with some travel to our manufacturing and customer sites required.
**Some key accountabilities include**
- Managing Bids and Projects in accordance with Thales guidelines ensuring it addresses the objectives of the business.
- Liaising closely and collaboratively with functional teams to ensure efficient delivery of bids/projects.
- Effective management of stakeholders and associated communications both external and internal.
- Developing customer relationships by ensuring products and services delivered exceed where possible, customer expectations.
- As a Bid Manager, developing winning strategies, with specific win themes and ensuring it translates into compelling offers.
- Conducting gate reviews in accordance with Thales Governance framework.
- Preparing, monitoring and managing Bid and Project integrated schedule, budget, baselines, risks and opportunities.
**On day one you will come with**:
- At least three years’ Bid Management experience with multi-partners / major co-contractors.
- Demonstrated experience in development of commercial proposals, business cases or related outcomes, in a cross-functional team environment.
- Degree qualified in business, engineering, project management or other suitable discipline.
- IPMA Certification or ability to secure certification.
- Proven and effective leadership skills with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience working with complex Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Australian Citizenship to be eligible for Defence Security Clearance
