**About the Role**
The role is fulltime Ongoing. The Acquisition Case Manager will manage a range of government land transactions (e.g. compulsory acquisitions, negotiation of leases/licences, purchases, temporary occupations, underground strata divestments and Planning and Environment Act claims) and associated compensation for our clients which include the Department’s Groups, Westgate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, North East Link Project, Major Roads Project Victoria and Suburban Rail Loop Authority.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- **Effective Delivery of Land and Compensation Negotiations** -Under broad supervision, successfully managed land transactions by adhering to relevant legislation, government policies, and procedures. Responsibilities included engaging with landowners and stakeholders, preparing statutory notices and correspondence, securing approvals for compensation offers, negotiating settlements, obtaining land possession within project timelines, supporting dispute resolution processes (VCAT or Supreme Court), and maintaining accurate records in systems/databases.
- **Advice** - Provided expert advice on government land transactions and broader processes, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Developed solutions for issues related to land transactions and compensation in situations lacking defined policies or procedures.
- **Stakeholder Management** - has developed and maintained strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders resulting in high levels of trust and stakeholder satisfaction.
**Key Selection Criteria**
- **Occupational Capability -** Demonstrated experience in land transactions (particularly in the area of case law, identification of risk and strategies toward resolution of compensation cases) and practical knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009, the Transport Integration Act 2010, the Land acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other legislation relevant to leases, licences, road declarations, crown land dealings and land disposal.
- **Project Delivery (Applied)**Coordinates and guides others in the execution of work activities; Monitors progress of tasks against plans and takes corrective action when required.
- **Interpersonal skills (Accomplished) -** Detects the underlying concerns, interests or emotions that lie behind what is being said and done.
- **Innovation and Continuous Improvement (Accomplished)** - Creates team environment where innovation and creativity are fostered and rewarded.
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- A relevant qualification in planning or a related field is required
- Working knowledge of the Victoria Planning Provisions and the Planning and Environment Act 1987 is required, with statutory and/or strategic planning experience in state government, local government or consulting practice.
Desirable
- Experience in the development and amendment of legislation and/or regulations in a State or Commonwealth public service setting.
