**The Role**
The primary responsibility of a Case Manager is to manage a portfolio of death claims from inception to resolution. This role involves serving as the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders regarding all matters related to death claims, representing the Insurance Claims team in a professional manner.
Case Managers provide essential support to the Insurance Claims team by effectively fulfilling service deliverables and aiding in the advancement of the Insurance Claims team's operating model with its key partners.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Support the team in responding to internal and external insurance claim queries and complaints
- Be a first point of contact for claimants ensuring they are well informed of the claim process and progress; managing their claim with empathy, professionalism and in a timely manner
- Recommend the distribution of death benefits to the Trustee Delegate in accordance with SIS legislation, our Trust Deed, and distribution philosophy.
- Identify claimable insurance benefits for a member and manage interactions with insurers and third parties to ensure successful claims assessments.
- Ensure that the claims register is accurately maintained, and all claimants are informed of the reasons for the decisions made.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, service providers, administrators, and insurance providers, to establish and maintain positive working relationships.Ensure the Insurance Claims team supports all Member Operations services and meets service standards required by other Fund Domains, such as Member and Retirement.
**What you’ll need**
- Min 2 years’ experience in death claims essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organisational skills to prioritise and manage tasks effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in performance
- Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively without supervision and to set own work plan to meet deadlines
- Ability to identify & drive improved ways of working and present new solutions for discussionAn inner drive and energy to help the team deliver excellent outcomes
