As the Principal Project Officer, you will develop, implement and maintain networks and resources, and provide expertise to support the development of person-centred and place-based housing services and culturally appropriate housing solutions for the second Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan.

**You will do this by**:

- Providing leadership to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan project team with a focus on developing productive relationships with relevant local government agencies, non-government organisations, and other stakeholders for the coordination of the Project.
- Recognising and articulating the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and effectively and sensitively consulting and negotiating outcomes for the Project in accordance with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols.
- Providing high level analysis, advice and recommendations on innovative approaches to issues that impact on the Project.
- Leading teams to coordinate ongoing project initiatives identified by the department and the management team.
- Providing advice to the Manager and the Senior Director, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan Development on risks and issues regarding the Project and identify, strategize and undertake significant policy and service delivery improvement work.
- Representing the department at significant forums, ensuring effective representation on First Nations housing issues and participate in cross agency/multi jurisdictional forums as appropriate.
- Undertaking research and evaluation processes to determine emerging needs, trends and issues to assist in strategic policy and program development.
- Developing and preparing reporting tools, resources and systems to enable reporting on current Project issues, risks and outcomes.
- Preparing complex and substantial reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda and correspondence in relation to Project initiatives.
- Leading and ensuring you establish and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day to day operations.
