As a Principal Project Officer, you will provide portfolio oversight and financial reporting of infrastructure planning projects for the team, to support meeting future schooling needs in growth areas across the state. You will also develop reporting strategies and tools; and provide specialist advice to various areas of the department regarding infrastructure, planning and asset management related business activities, systems, policies, projects, reporting and programs of work.

**Qualifications and experience**:
The essential requirements for this role are:

- Demonstrated experience in finance management, reporting and provision of specialist advice on performance against allocated project/program budgets, related trends, forecasting, actuals review and monthly reporting; and 'managing up' in order to ensure the key stakeholders remain informed, are proactively alerted to potential issues and risks.
- Demonstrated experience in program management, supporting processes and systems such as Systems Analysis Program (SAP), data analytics, visualisation and modelling.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project and program methodologies, and experience in supporting multidisciplinary teams in strategic initiatives and achieving successful project outcomes within an infrastructure service delivery environment (or similar).
- Skills and experience in identifying and analysing problems, and exercising initiative and responsibility.
- Confidence in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams and OneNote would be highly valued. Experience in the use of the Department of Education Content Manager and PowerBi would also be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, setting priorities and achieve results within tight deadlines in an environment of change and evolution.

Although is role does not have a specific mandatory qualification, formal qualifications in one or more of the following would be highly regarded:

- Project Management
- Financial Management

**Accountabilities**:
The Principal Project Officer, will be accountable for and lead duties associated with the role that include:

- Development and implementation of a Portfolio reporting dashboard for the Service Strategy team.
- Lead the financial analysis and reporting of infrastructure planning projects and related programs for the Service Strategy team.
- Contribute to the establishment of policies, processes and tools for the development and implementation of quality reporting frameworks and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Contribute to the development of performance measures to evaluate and report on specific infrastructure planning programs.
- Work with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to achieve continuous improvement and to modify practices, procedures, processes, technologies, tools and strategies to achieve the objectives of the Service Strategy team.
- Provide high level advice and reporting to branch management, senior executive, Regional Directors and Principals on a broad range of infrastructure planning projects.
- Support preparation of correspondence and reports, submissions, briefing notes, ministerial correspondence and policy documentation as required.
- Work collaboratively as part of a highly skilled infrastructure planning team.
