About the Role

Talent Focus is seeking a dedicated Safety Culture Specialist to join our team. This permanent full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary of AU$110,000 - AU$140,000 per annum.

Job Description

As a Safety Culture Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and implementing health, safety, and environmental systems to ensure compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with all levels of the organisation to educate, recognise, and manage WHS&E risks and promote safe work practices. This position reports to the People and Culture Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ensure compliance documentation meets statutory regulations and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Schedule regular safety training, toolbox talks, and assist workers to implement system improvements and corrective actions.
  • Proven track record of maintaining ISO 45001 certification in an industrial setting.
  • Manage workers' compensation, including return-to-work plans, in conjunction with line managers and management.
  • Complete WHS&E documentation for tenders and upload details for online databases as required.
  • Integrate WHS&E considerations into project design and construction phases.
  • Update, review, and issue WH&S documentation after each project, including JSEA's and SWMS.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Design and deliver training programs to educate staff on ISO requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance and compliance status to management.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of incident data and KPI reporting.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced professional with a Certificate IV or equivalent qualification in WHS and at least 3-5 years of local experience in a similar position. You should also have:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in Worker's compensation (Return to Work coordination).
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and protect confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate outcomes without confrontation.
