About the Role

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Network Sourcing Strategist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in network sourcing and acquisition to make a meaningful impact.

Job Description

We're looking for a strategic thinker who can design and deliver critical network infrastructure that enables our cloud and AI services. The successful candidate will have industry experience with regard to network sourcing, contracting, and permitting, as well as a solid understanding of geospatial data and related analysis technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in networking and/or data center technologies, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects and working cross-functionally to achieve broad goals. They will be able to influence others and work effectively with stakeholders from various teams and backgrounds.

The Network Sourcing Strategist will be responsible for leading project initiatives to improve efficiency and quality in their assigned region, collaborating with internal teams to identify and define strategic initiatives, and building strategic relationships with vendors and industry experts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage cloud project initiatives for platform enablement and delivery capabilities that exceed customer expectations.
  • Drive performance quality across existing suppliers' services and ensure proactive arrest of connectivity outages.
  • Responsible for data analytics for their country to parse data, build meaningful metrics, and reports enabling workflow analysis driving for workflow efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and define strategic initiatives to meet expansion and cost reduction needs.
  • Build strategic relationships with vendors and industry experts.
Requirements
  • BS or BA degree (In lieu of degree, 5 years relevant work experience)
  • Industry experience with regard to network sourcing/acquisition and contracting, including colocation sourcing, metro and long haul dark fiber acquisition, and lit wavelengths.
  • 3+ years of experience in networking and/or data center technologies.
  • Solid understanding of geospatial data and related analysis technologies.
  • Network construction experience in the ANZ market.
  • 3+ years of program management or equivalent engineering experience leading, defining, and delivering projects or services.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
