Job Title: Teacher Special Education

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of Special Education to join our team at Jerrabomberra High School.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher to work with students with a range of disabilities, including emotional disturbance. As a member of our special education team, you will develop and implement innovative programs and ensure suitable learning supports are in place for all of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with the special education team to provide support and resources for students
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning for students with disabilities
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure student success
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive practices across the school
Requirements
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, behavioural difficulties, and emotional disturbance in a secondary educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement flexible and innovative teaching and learning opportunities for students with disabilities
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
