Job Title: Teacher Special Education

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of Special Education to join our team at Jerrabomberra High School. As a member of our special education team, you will play a critical role in supporting students with a range of disabilities, including emotional disturbance.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a Teacher of Special Education, you will work collaboratively with our special education team to develop and implement innovative programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans that meet the unique needs of each student
  • Work collaboratively with the special education team to design and deliver inclusive and engaging learning programs
  • Provide support and guidance to students with emotional and behavioural disorders
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, behavioural difficulties, and emotional disturbance in a secondary educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning opportunities for students with disability
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and key stakeholders
