We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Jerrabomberra High School.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with students with a range of disabilities, including emotional disturbance, and develop innovative programs to support their learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to cater for the social, emotional, sensory, and communication needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with the special education team to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Design and deliver differentiated, multi-stage cross-curriculum programs to meet the academic and pathway needs of students.
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of high expectations and positive behaviors within the school.
Requirements
  • Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, Mild and Moderate Intellectual Disabilities, Behavioural difficulties, and Emotional Disturbance in a Secondary Educational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate flexible and innovative teaching and learning opportunities for students with disability.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills working effectively with staff, parents, and key stakeholders.
