Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Adviser to join our team. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on interpreting and developing legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992, and other relevant laws.

This role is responsible for supporting corporate and commercial matters, procurement, governance, and corporate operations. You will also assist in developing client-focused legal advice and support Comcare staff on legal and policy matters under supervision.

  • You must be a qualified legal practitioner with an admission to the High Court or Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
  • You need a current Practising Certificate or the ability to obtain one within three months.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the APS Values and Code of Conduct, the Legal Services Directions 2017, and internal procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent risk management skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

A character clearance, employee health declaration, and six-month probationary period apply to new engagements.
