Job Summary

CHC Helicopter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Deputy Manager Crew Training. This is a full-time management position that will assist the Manager Crew Training with accountabilities for the provision of CHC APAC Flight Training program, to support safe and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist MCT with all training requirements to support safe and compliant operations and act as the post holder MCT when required.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the Company approved training system, with safety of Company operations as the first priority.
  • Drive implementation and adherence of the CHC harmonized flight operations standards and procedures within CHCI.
  • Ensure a high standard of training and testing is maintained according to OM Part A, B, C, D, F, and G.
  • Monitor and maintain flight crew training through regular observation and appraisal in the training and examining role.
  • Ensure training programs are arranged for efficient and cost-effective use of aircraft, simulators, training facilities, and training manpower in accordance with the operations manual.
  • Set flight crew proficiency standards at the highest level appropriate to the safety of line operations in close liaison with other MCTs and under supervision of the Head of Flight Training.
  • Meet the requirements of relevant regulations as appropriate at all times so far as they relate to training, testing, and checking of flight crew.
  • Maintain active and positive dialogue with regulatory agencies (CASA) and customers to ensure acceptable standards and business continuity.
  • Ensure content and CASA approval of the worldwide harmonized Company OM Part D.
  • Develop staff management capability through career development discussions and supported with performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure activities within the training department are carried out in accordance with established SMS principles in the Company.
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of QMS/LMS/EGS system and associated pilot record management.
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance with OMD requirements.
  • Work closely with outside resources for the delivery of training.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Be willing to fly in their AOC on an occasional basis to maintain currency.
  • Support and engage with CHC APAC departments in business development strategy and assist the commercial department to develop well-costed and operationally deliverable solutions.
  • Attend and participate in the Operational and Safety Review Boards.
  • Be willing to travel internationally at times with short notice.
  • May be assigned other duties.
Requirements
  • Capable of holding Nominated position of Manager Crew Training and Checking as per CASA & CASA.
  • Current ATPL (h) with IR.
  • Minimum of 300 hours of training duties in helicopters.
  • Must be IOGP compliant for Captain.
  • Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Min 5 years management experience.
  • Must be qualified to fly EMS & SAR.
  • Current type rating on a CHC AUS aircraft type.
  • Current TRE or TRI on CHC AUS aircraft type.
