The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled US Payroll Specialist to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our payroll team, you'll be responsible for managing the US payroll function, including salary adjustments, timesheet auditing, and benefits administration. You'll work closely with our People Team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, and provide expert guidance to US employees on payroll and benefits-related queries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate processing of semi-monthly payroll for all US employees across multiple states in Rippling, including salary adjustments, timesheet auditing, benefits, and related deductions.
  • Administrator of all US employee benefits programs, including insurance, 401K, and other company-provided benefits.
  • Primary point of contact for all employee payroll and employee benefit inquiries.
  • Review of payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Partnering closely with the People and HR team members to coordinate employee compensation updates, benefits administration, new hires, separations, and data changes.
  • Timely and accurate tax filing and reporting, preparing and submitting state and federal payroll taxes and reports, as well as managing year-end reporting and W-2 distributions.
  • Ensuring payroll processing is in full compliance with country, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Staying up to date with changes in US legislation that may impact payroll procedures and updating and collaborating with other internal stakeholders to update processes accordingly.
  • Conducting routine payroll audits to ensure accuracy of information.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role.
  • Proven experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a similar role with both hybrid payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software, including Rippling, ADP, and Paychex.
  • Experience working with global teams across the APAC time zones.
  • Experience with Netsuite would be advantageous.
