Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled General Surgery Fellow to play a key role in improving the delivery of general surgical services to patients at Launceston General Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility, as well as providing after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertaking approved general surgical outpatient and inpatient services
  • Participating in after-hours Registrar/Consultant on-call rosters
  • Providing leadership and mentoring for surgical registrars and RMOs in training
  • Assisting with quality improvement, audit and service improvement within the Department of Surgery
