The General Surgery Fellow position involves delivering a range of responsibilities across general surgical outpatient and inpatient services.

  • Undertaking approved services for patients, including day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility.">
  • Participating in after-hours Registrar/Consultant on-call rosters to ensure seamless service delivery.">
  • Providing leadership and mentoring for surgical registrars and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) in training, promoting professional development and growth.">
  • Assisting with quality improvement, audit and service improvement initiatives within the Department of Surgery.">

Responsibilities also include provision of after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit, ensuring timely support for patients.

This role offers broad exposure to General Surgery, including operating, emergencies, and clinics. It is well-supported clinically with additional teaching and research opportunities available.
