Position Overview:

We are seeking a Civil Estimating Manager to oversee a dedicated team of estimators in delivering precise and timely project estimates. This role reports directly to the Executive Pre-Contracts Manager and is crucial for the successful execution of civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the complete Estimating Process from initiation to completion.
  2. Lead and mentor a team of Estimators, fostering a collaborative environment.
  3. Develop comprehensive project budgets and prepare detailed pricing estimates.
  4. Conduct peer reviews of estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Collaborate with the Executive Pre-Contracts Manager on preliminaries and risk assessments.
  6. Prepare tender assumptions and clarify queries during the tendering process.
  7. Document and submit progress reports, variations, and claims.
  8. Provide monthly updates to management regarding estimating activities.
  9. Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and practices.
  11. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors.
  12. Implement the Pre-contracts Gate process and prepare necessary documentation.
Candidate Profile:
  • Proven experience in a senior estimating role within the civil construction sector.
  • Formal qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related fields are preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and construction methodologies.
  • Familiarity with estimating software is advantageous.
  • Experience with large-scale projects valued between $10M and $100M.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills across all levels.
