We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimating Manager to join our team at Whittens, a leading Australian-owned civil construction company. As a key member of our pre-contracts team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of estimators and delivering timely and accurate estimates for a range of civil construction infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the estimating process from end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a small team of estimators, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Prepare and price estimates in their entirety, developing detailed project budgets and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Peer review estimates completed by other estimators, ensuring accurate pricing and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare risk and opportunity analysis prior to tendering, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
- Prepare tender assumptions, clarifications, and queries, ensuring clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare submission of progress, variations, and claims documentation, ensuring accurate pricing and timely submission.
- Monthly reporting to the Executive Pre-Contracts Manager, providing updates on project progress and estimating performance.
- Assist with negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Administer relevant correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication with clients and stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Civil Estimating Manager with a strong background in civil construction estimating. You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, with exposure to civil tenders, including earthworks, concrete, NPI, roadworks, and drainage. You will also have a strong understanding of the National Code of Practice, procurement, and construction methodology.
You will be a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members. You will also have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
