Civil Estimating Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Estimating Manager to join our team at Whittens, a leading Australian civil construction company. As a key member of our pre-contracts team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of estimators and delivering timely and accurate estimates for a range of civil construction infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the estimating process from end-to-end, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of estimates.
- Lead and mentor a small team of estimators, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Prepare and price estimates in their entirety, developing detailed project budgets and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Peer review estimates completed by other estimators, ensuring accurate pricing and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare and review preliminary estimates, working closely with the Executive Pre-Contracts Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and mitigate risks, opportunities, and tender conditions, clearly communicating these to senior management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Civil Estimating Manager with a strong background in civil construction estimating. You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, with exposure to civil tenders, including earthworks, concrete, NPI, roadworks, and drainage. You will also have a strong understanding of the National Code of Practice, procurement, and construction methodology.
