Job Title

Urgent: Female Community Support Worker

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care Assistance: Provide support with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a dignified and respectful manner.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication management, and other activities of daily living.
  • Promote Independence: Encourage and assist clients in developing and maintaining their independence, including mobility support, social participation, and goal-setting.
  • Emotional and Social Support: Build genuine, trusting relationships with clients to help combat isolation and encourage social interaction. Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Monitor clients' health and wellbeing, report any concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals or supervisors, and support the implementation of care plans.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including progress notes, daily logs, and incident reports. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, healthcare providers, and families to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each individual.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a support or care role is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Genuine Passion: A genuine passion for supporting individuals and helping them achieve their personal goals.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of clients and the service.
  • Qualifications: Relevant Qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Individual Support/IV in Disability Support).
