We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people with disabilities and enabling them to live fulfilling lives.

About the Role

In this role, you will be providing active support to individuals with disabilities in their homes and communities. You will work closely with participants to develop independence and professional friendships, encouraging them to participate in daily activities based on their interests and goals.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a Certificate or be studying Cert III/IV in Disability/Aged Care/Individual Support, or have minimum work experience within the care sector
  • Current First Aid/CPR qualifications
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Minimum of 3 full business day availability (weekends additional)
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Understanding of vulnerabilities and needs of people with disability and the issues they face

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting people with mental health and complex behaviors
  • High care knowledge and experience including catheter care, bowel care, personal care, and PEG feeding
  • Accredited diabetes training, epilepsy training, etc.
  • Ability to assist clients with medication
